Stellar Employees Deck Out in Denim to Fight Breast Cancer

-"Jeans for Donna Day" Will Support The Donna Foundation-

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- (October 15, 2008) - The Stellar Foundation is encouraging Stellar employees to wear jeans to work on Friday, October 24th, as Stellar employees take part in Stellar's "Jeans for Donna Day." In exchange for enjoying the Friday business casual attire, employees will be asked to donate $5 per person to The Donna Foundation. The Donna Foundation provides financial assistance for medical and living expenses to local women being treated for breast cancer.

This year marks the 3rd annual "Jeans for Donna Day." Last year's event raised $3,000 for the Donna Foundation, which the company hopes to exceed this year.

"Grassroots support from a business leader like Stellar is our lifeblood at the Donna Foundation," said Donna Deegan, anchor at First Coast News, two-time breast cancer survivor and Founder of the Donna Foundation. "We have an enormous need in this community and we have never had to turn a woman away thanks to our tremendous local support. Stellar presents a great example for other businesses to follow."

Deegan will make a personal appearance at Stellar on the 24th at 3:00 p.m. to accept the donation from Stellar employees.

"We are thrilled to be involved with Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising money to help local women being treated for breast cancer," said Ali Korman, Executive Director of the Stellar Foundation. "Supporting the Donna Foundation is the best way to do that."

About The Donna Foundation
Two time breast cancer survivor Donna Deegan launched the Donna Foundation in June of 2003. The Foundation is the only organization on the First Coast that raises money for underserved women with critical needs as they undergo treatment for breast cancer. DF partners with Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office, the largest social service agency in the area, to administer these funds. Catholic Charities' social workers lovingly screen each recipient to ensure the Foundation is a good steward of the donations received. Checks are then made payable to the mortgage company, the utilities carrier, the doctor's office, etc. For more information visit www.donnahickenfoundation.org
