Stellar Collects Nearly 60 Scarves for “The Jessica Project”

-Company Supports Local Program for Cancer Patients-

Jacksonville, Fla.-(November 12, 2008)-Stellar, a Jacksonville based design-build firm, is stepping up to support The Jessica Project, a local initiative collecting scarves for cancer patients living on the First Coast.

Stellar employees were asked to bring in scarves during the month of October and donate them to The Jessica Project, as a call to action during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Jessica Project was organized by Brittany Davis of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., in honor of her sister Jessica, who was diagnosed with cancer at age 16 and endured the trauma of losing her hair during chemotherapy. The Project works to collect scarves for other local cancer patients, who are often looking for head-dress while undergoing chemo treatments.

On the morning of November 5th, volunteers from The Jessica Project picked up 60 scarves from Stellar to distribute to local women.

“Stellar is a strong supporter of local programs benefiting women being treated for breast cancer.” said Ali Korman, Director of Public Relations at Stellar. “The Jessica Project is a worthwhile initiative and our employees are happy to donate these scarves to the cause.”
